Lisa Lewis LCSW
Hi! I’m Lisa Lewis, therapist. For the past 25 years, my expertise includes working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples facing challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at National Deaf Therapy, I am passionate about enhancing mental health and quality of life for individuals of all ages, including those in the deaf community, as I am fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
I believe in a person-centered approach, focusing on personal growth and self- acceptance while reducing the stigma around mental health treatment. My practice
incorporates spirituality and multiculturalism, allowing me to tailor my approach to each client’s unique beliefs and values. I hold a Master’s degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and specialize in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). My mission is to empower clients to embrace their unique selves and lead fulfilling lives. My pronouns are she/her.

Leesa McClelland
(Ze/Zir/Zirs)
Ms. Ed., NCC, LMHC-associate
Hi and welcome! My name is Leesa McClelland. I am Deaf and identify as non-binary, and I use ze/zir/zirs pronouns. My journey began at Gallaudet University (2004–2006) where I studied psychology. Life then led me back to Indiana, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Purdue University Northwest, and later earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certification in Addiction Counseling in 2017. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked in the mental health field in many different roles—case manager, advocate, and therapist—across settings such as home-based services, schools, and community mental health. I currently hold an associate license in Indiana and am working toward expanding licensure to states like Colorado. My therapy style is genuine, open-minded, and curious. I care deeply about creating a safe, welcoming space where Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients of all ages—youth, adults, and elders—can feel seen and supported. Together, we can work through life’s challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, stress, addiction, harm reduction, conflicts, life transitions, gender identity and expression, LGBTQIA+ experiences, suicidality, and emotional regulation. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and respect as you navigate your own journey of healing and growth. A little about me: I find joy in being outdoors, whether I’m hiking in nature, traveling, or exploring the beauty of our national parks. I have a love for the arts—experimenting with different creative mediums and visiting art museums always inspires me. I’m also a fan of sci-fi thrillers and enjoy immersing myself in stories that spark curiosity and imagination. Personal growth is something I value, and I try to challenge myself in new ways while also practicing self-care. Some of my favorite ways to recharge include spending time with my two beloved cats—Rey, my playful tabby, and Jester, my sleek panther-like companion—or unwinding with a long, candlelit bath. These moments of balance and joy help me stay grounded and bring my best self to the work I do with others.
